panoramas, but not quite

Series titled: Nooks And Corners, mostly shot in Bangalore during 2008-2010 Second Series titled: Montages, shot during other travel assignments between 2010-2019

In 2007, After leaving full time photojournalism I got haunted with the incompleteness in narrating a situation which lies in between the layers of moments. There was an urge to narrate entire happenings from the same situation or spot. So, I relied on consequent shots with a documentary language. Later I consciously weaved this together in producing diptychs or triptychs, quadriptych or pentaptych, hexaptych or octaptych or more. Slowly this process started influencing my work and dictating the approach to an image.

A continuing exploration, similar to the halter-skelter of spot journalism. As a story teller, documentarian and painter all within me pursued to work further on this series.
Long waiting for appealing moments, documenting the same for a couple more frames and still waiting as it go on.

Each time the capture is different from the previous ones. This made me not to follow any formula.
Now I have ample time to toil in these lock down to reap an image which liquidate that lacunae in narration.

This Series started with an intention to narrate a situation with multiple layers of moments, instead of single shots. I think in 2007-08 the year I left full time photo journalism. I always intend to narrate entire happenings from the same situation or spot. Because the single shot have lots of limitation, I always there for consequent shots.

A documentarism language. I put together many shots to create the story, it becomes diptychs or triptychs, quadriptych or pentaptych, hexaptych or octaptych or more. This increased my curiosity further. Didn’t take much time to discover that this series had started influencing the rest of my work as well. I am looking to explore a parallel to the apparent reality of spot journalism. A story teller, documentarian and painter all within me had start to work further on this series.

How I worked out, First I spot the site, ( not for all situations) then wait for interesting moments, documenting the same for couple more frames. Each time is different from the previous ones. So never followed any production formula.

Now I got time in this lock down to work on post processing. Most from the series are created during Lock down days.
